Karen Corr and Dennis Orcullo Take Enjoypool.com 9-Ball Titles!
Karen Corr and Dennis Orcullo both went undefeated through 64 players to take titles in this year's Enjoypool.com championships. For Corr, it was her fourth BCA title, facing Allison Fisher in the finals after Allison defeated last year's champ, Jasmin Ouschan, in the ESPN taped semifinal. Karen jumped to a 2-0 lead but #1 ranked Fisher quickly tied it at 2-2. The tour's top two ranked champions battled back and forth from there, but at 5-4 Corr dug in and took the next two to polish off a 7-4 victory and collect $15,000.
On the men's side, Shane Van Boening earned his spot in the finals after defeating Mike Davis in the semi's, but that would be his last victory in this event. Undefeated Dennis Orcullo played fast and loose and pocketed $15,000 for his amazing 7-0 finals victory! Watch for ESPN coverage of these events in June!
Enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championship Down to Televised Rounds
In the women's division, Jasmin Ouschan, defending champ, defeated Ga Young Kim 9-7 to earn a spot in the semi's against none other than #1 ranked Allison Fisher. Fisher ran undefeated on the winner's side until she met former BCA champ Karen Corr (pictured) in the winner's bracket final. #2 ranked Karen Corr remains the only undefeated player after her 9-4 victory over the Duchess of Doom. She'll face either Allison or Jasmin in tomorrow's taped-for-TV final!
In the men's division, defending champ Ralf Souquet turned in a less than stellar performance and was defeated early on the one loss side to finish 33rd in the 64 player field. Mike Davis defeated US Open champ John Schmidt to earn his spot in the semi-finals. He'll match up next against Shane Van Boening, a newcomer to the final rounds of this event! Dennis Orcullo (pictured) remains the only undefeated player with a guaranteed seat in the finals.
