Main Street Productions announced today the Baltimore premier and simultaneous DVD Release of its highly-anticipated billiards themed feature film, “9-Ball” -- to take place November 20th at the Charles Theater in Baltimore, MD.
The film is the most recent creation of writer, director and producer Tony Palma and stars real life pool champion, Jennifer Barretta alongside Kurt Hanover, Brian Anthony Wilson, Jennifer
Butler and Mark Kochanowicz. The film is based on the quest of a young woman struggling to overcome major obstacles and leave behind a world of hustling pool to join the American Poolplayers Association where she achieves amateur stardom as she climbs her way up to the top to become a professional pool player.
“9-Ball” was filmed primarily in Pottsville, PA and Glen Burnie, MD locations due to the concentrated billiards community and local support of the film’s production. The APA as well as world-renown billiard suppliers: Lucasi, Aramith, Delta-13 and London Bridge have sponsored the movie.
Other real-life pool champions appearing in the film include BCA hall-of-famer Allison Fisher and the “Black Widow” Jeanette Lee.
The film’s premiere will begin at 7pm at the Charles Theater located at 1711 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD, 21202. Tickets will be available at the door to the general public for $9 and a discount is available for all APA members with valid ID.
